Now since you all have posted O names I will try:

Olivia, Oliver, Owen, Oscar, Opal
Orion, Oslo, Ozzy, Otis, Orleen,
Olga, Ondine, Oxanna, Orville, Oswald
Oren, Ogden, Oleander, Onyx, Oberon

Some of them are similar but these are the only O names I care for so I would find nn's.

To go with sisters Violet and Seraphina I'm thinking it must be something old-fashioned. The names William and James both immediately jumped to my mind, though they'd be too common, I imagine.

So, to just be completely random my other guesses are going to be: Atticus or Augustus. Little rhyme or reason there, just picked from the clear blue sky! :)

A pregnant woman who is expecting twins gets into a terrible car accident and slips into a coma. To save the babies her doctors perform an emergency c-section. Re the Garner/Affleck baby I just read a report that the name is Samuel Garner Affleck. Not sure whether it's true or not.

Samuel is interesting, quite traditional. I have never particularly thought Violet and Seraphina are a good sibset. So I'm not surprised that Samuel also doesn't overly fit (in my mind anyway).

Hmm seems like Jen + Ben's kids were named by three different people.

Samuel is a bit dull compared to their daughters' names, but it is a good name. I do wish they had given him some kind of plant name as well.

I think Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel sound lovely together.

Samuel Garner Affleck name is confirmed now. yeah, that sib-set is not really working for me.

I just got done watching a CSI episode. The little boy (about 6-7) was named Harper. I enjoyed the show but the whole hour I kept wondering why the BOY'S name was Harper. I'm so used to it being a girl's name. Plus, the kid didn't look like a Harper. Maybe an Austin.

@zoerhenne, I agree that Harper feels more girl to me but I do know a boy Harper who is 18 months. I know far more girl Harpers though!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Garner/Affleck sibset is a bit unusual. I don't mind any of the names they just don't go together that well for me. Also Violet has one middle name, Seraphina 2 and Samuel none (other than the Garner? I guess that counts as 1). That also seems inconsistent.

Didn't Laura do a post a while back talking about how parents will be more adventurous with girl names than with boys? I feel that might be the case here. Violet, when she was born, wasn't on the top 1000 (I know this as I was pregnant with my first then and was strongly considering Violet if we had a girl and was mighty annoyed when they took it!). So it was more of a quirky, old fashioned name. Then with Seraphina, it's a lot more quirky, a lot more old fashioned. Like they, too, were upset that Violet broke the top 1000 that year and didn't want that with their second. But then they have a boy, and couldn't imagine giving a boy something too quirky, but yet still a traditional, old fashioned name. Anyway, that's my armchair psychological breakdown of their naming style.

YAG-that could be the case. Like Chimu said, they aren't bad names its just that they don't match well. All in all it doesn't matter that much and we may never know their reasoning.

@YAG, I agree this is an example of more adventurous naming for girls (especially with regard to Seraphina) and a more traditional, conservative approach for boys. (According to the SSA, Violet broke the top 1000 in 1998 and climbed to #372 by 2005 when Violet Affleck was born.)

I don't dislike the name Samuel at all (and find the nn Sam charming), but I'm with Chimu on feeling the sibset doesn't quite hang together. Not that it matters, plenty of regular people have disparate sibsets. Maybe we just expect more from the celebs? ;)

I love the three names and though I don't think sibling names have to "match" these names do to me.
