My grandson's name is Aslan. He loves his name and from the time he could speak he has strongly identified with the fact that his name means lion, and all that is associated with that- kingship, strength. He cannot get enough of the animated feature "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe". We have only very positive responses to his name. Would pick this name again in a heartbeat.

I am a different person, posting my experiences. My son is named Aslan. Like the post above, he very much embodies and identifies with the name and the fact that it means lion and all that is associated with it. He LOVES the Chronicles of Narnia radio theater and laughs when they say his name. He also loves all of the movies that have come out. When he is older we will read the books together. We named him Aslan because Aslan is the Christ figure of Narnia and the characteristics of the lion are leadership, strength, courageous, kingship, servant leadership, etc. - ApachePunk
