Comments and insights on the name Benjamin: | Edit

A likely reason for this Biblical name's popularity is that it is spelled the same in Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Hungarian, Slovak, and Spanish.

Benjamin is traditional and classic. The three galloping syllables are impressive in its full version and the nn "ben" is adorable for a boy. Of the highly traditional names (Andrew, William, James, etc) its a bit quirky and intellectual. Goes well with a wide range of surnames. A lovely name to grow into and enjoy.

Good, solid, thoroughly masculine name that suits a grown man as well as a little boy.

Personal experiences with the name Benjamin: | Edit

We have four sons. Our Benjamin is number 2 of 4 sons. We gave all our boys biblical names. His siblings are: Ethan, Lucas, and Roman.

The only thing I do not like is when they try to call him Benji. His nick name is Benny or Ben, but he likes to spell out his entire name at school. But he is Benny to me. :)

I love the name. Strong and Masculine, and Classic.

Our son goes by the nickname Ben at school, but as there are two Ben's in his class, he is known as 'Ben G' (our last name starts with a G..) so he is determined that Benji is spelled Ben G...

I have a brother Benjamin and because my father is German it is pronounced Ben-ya-min I think it's cute with the German pronunciation
