Benton was my husband's great grandfather's name. We plan to name our first son Benton.
- Personal experiences with the name Benton: | Edit
I've loved it all of my 38 years. Didn't really get teased for my name, despite having been a bit awkward as a kid (skinny and very white, with extremely blond hair). I usually go by Ben but the people who call me Benton do so out of respect. I've enjoyed having an unusual given name. I've only been in close proximity to one other Benton (a department head at my University) but I never met him face to face. All in all, nothing I can complain about. I think Benton would be a good name for a child being born in this generation.
My husband and I named our son Benton after his great great grandpa. We wanted a name that no other kid on the playground would have and we wanted a family name that wasn't currently in use. I think we accomplished our goals quite nicely. The name Benton fits our little one perfectly.
