Personal experiences with the name Denis

I work with a guy named Denis, who is a really nice, stand up guy. However he has fairly messy handwriting. Often, when he signs his name, his capital "D" ends up looking much more like a capital "P".
I think Denis is a nice enough name, but I think I would go with the "2 N" spelling, just to avoid this issue.
