we had been asked to keep the initials DTG in the family. i liked the name Aiden, he liked Draven (yuck!), so we compromised... Draden (dray-den). we plan to call him Drey/Dray for short.

most people snarl up their nose after we answer the popular "what are you going to name him?" question, but we wanted something uncommon. it's really growing on me. my grandma said "DRAGON?!?!" i told her no, Grandma, DRAY-DEN.

My great-great-grandmother was named Draden Cornelia -- she went by Cornelia. Her mother's name was Draden Serepta. My grandmother also had a male cousin named Draden. I named my youngest daughter Draden -- and she would have been Draden as a boy, too. I've never met a Draden outside my family.
