Comments and insights on the name Howard: | Edit

Howard is my family/maiden name. I would definitely consider it as a name for a son. I have always thought it a really strong name. I think it is set for a revival in popularity as the world becomes over populated with little Henrys. (Howard seems to me to be in the same class as "Henry" and yet not so overused.) Must say I'm too keen on the nickname "Howie", though. Don't think this name "needs" a nickname.

I am thirteen (Wait. I'm fourteen! I forgot yesterday was my birthday. Wow, I feel exactly the same. I think I'm getting old. Carry on.) and my fifty year old dad's name is Howard. It suits him perfectly. I really hope it doesn't get too popular or overused because I've always thought it sounded so quaint and strong and traditional. I adore my dad so maybe if some twenty odd years in the future I had a son I'd name him Howard. The nicknames are funny and cringeworthy, though.

Personal experiences with the name Howard: | Edit

My son, Howie, is named after his father and grandfather. His father had met Howie Long when he was young, it is an exciting event to meet someone famous with such an uncommon name. It is a story to remember and to carry on.
