Larry: Meaning, Popularity, Origin of Baby Name Larry
Origin of the name Larry:
A short form of Lawrence and Laurence, from the Latin Laurentius (man from Laurentum), which is from Laurentum, the name of a town in Latium, which is probably derived from laurus (laurel). The name was borne by St. Laurence the Deacon, who was martyred in Rome in 258. When ordered to hand over the church's treasures, he presented the sick and the poor. For this he was roasted alive on a gridiron. 237 churches are dedicated to him in England.

The man I want to marry is named Larry. He is the kindest, gentlest person I have ever met.
I have never met a nice Larry. When I was in elementary school, all the boys I knew named Larry were mean bullies. My former brother-in-law was a Larry, and he was a rotten person. My 2nd husband had a son named Larry who was an obnoxious drunk and drug addict. The only Larry I like is Larry the Cable Guy - I could listen to him all day!
I have only met 2 Larry's, they are both kind, hardworking and intelligent
