Marvel is the name of a large comic publishing company. They own well known characters such as the X-Men, Iron Man, Spiderman, Wolverine, Hulk, Daredevil, The Fantastic Four and Captain America. More recently, Marvel has produced movies based on it's characters with the 2008 successes being Hulk and Iron Man. Additionally, there are some comic book heroes named Marvel: Captain Marvel (Published by DC Comics)and Marvel Girl. Marvel Girl refers to three different characters in the Marvel Universe: Jean Gray/Phoenix, Valaria Richards and Rachel Summers/Phoenix.
