King Priam is widely known to have been King of Troy during the Trojan war, which was obviously a great responsibility, but he managed well. His real name was Podarces, and so it isn't much of a surprise that he changed it. Most famously, Priam was the one who pleaded with Achilles to return the war-torn body of his son, Hector. He was also the father of the infamous Paris (so his parenting record equals about one out of two. Not as bad as it could be.) Priam met a bloody end when Neoptolemus (another bad name) kills him at Zeus' altar during the Sack of Troy, during which time a lot of his family was also murdered in cold blood. However, he's a great namesake -- he died defending his people while still maintaining a great love for his own children.
