This is a goofy name.
I think it's endearingly so, and I'd probably use it someday. Fits right in with Noah, Jacob, and Liam, right? But yeah, it is kind of goofy.
It's very British and not (yet) very common in the US or elsewhere, even though it's of German origin.
Used to be considered a bit too upper-class in Britain but is more widely used nowadays along with classics like Edward, William, James, etc. that span all demographics.
It's a sort of sweet-spot name where it's well-known but not common (just outside the top 100 in Britain in 2019).
Very cute for a wee baby but grows into a sophisticated name on a grown man.
