Pronounced like Talon or Talen. The H is silent.

....My son's name is Thalen and it's pronounced "Thay" like thank you, and "len" like Lent. I made it up, I had no idea it already existed with a different pronounciation. I've only met one other person (after I had my son) with that name and he pronounces his "Talon" like a falcon's claw.

My youngest sons name is also Thalen, pronounced the same way the other poster broke down (Thay-len). I love that its unique, uncommon and has an old classic sound to it. When looking around it seems to be a common surname especially in the Netherlands. I found on a site somewhere that its is supposedly "Old Norse" and means "protector of the valley."

I was nervous that people would pronounce it without the "H" since its so similar to "Thales" but so far that hasn't been an issue.
