I wanted a name that there was not going to be 3 other boys in his class with the same name and I wanted a newer name to reflect my age and sense of style. My husband and I also wanted to play with initials so that would mean something too. Our favorite NFL team was playing and I noticed one of the players name on his jersey, and I liked it so much I made it his 1st name.

A trotter is a type of horse used for harness racing. It's also what a pig's foot is called when it's used for food.

People most of the time think they are mistaken and hear another name. I have also had several people ask if that is his nickname. I just tell them where I got the name and they know right off the bat that we are Eagles Fans.

In the movie "Object of my affection" with Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, they mention another character and his name is Trotter Bowle. That is the only time I have heard his name.
