Personal experiences with the name Wiley: | Edit

My great-grandpa's and my dad's middle name. Had I been a boy, it would have been my middle name (my mom spent a lot of time praying for a girl). I love it, especially for a MN, but my husband hates it as much as my mom does.

Wiley has been a name in my husband's family since the late 1800s. Even today, the name occasionally crops up as a boy's first or middle name. The boys all seem content and un-teased. Outside the family, though, we rarely hear it, which is too bad. It's one of those Anglo-Saxon names that's unique but not freakish or burdened with trendy spelling.

My maiden name is Wiley. I loved it and was sad to give it up when I got married so I kept it as my middle name--so did all of my sisters!
