My name is Larelie. When I was born, my mother was not sure on the exact spelling of my name, but she liked the way it sounded and the story of the Siren, so she spelled it differently. I wanted to share this so that people know there are other ways to spell it besides the traditional and its variations. :)

Lorelei was a maiden who was known for her great beauty, however she was chaste. She fell in love with a sailor who wronged her and on trying to kill herself a prince/baron stopped her on not wanting to waste her beauty. Lorelei then wanted to pass the whispering rock one last time before she was married to this baron so he sent her with 3 knights. She told the knights that she wanted to see the sun set and when she reached the summit she said there is my lover on seeing a fisherman in the waters below and then threw herself off the rock. The three knights also threw themselves off the rock after Lorelei and all died.
