Arcadia has its roots in Latin. It literally mean "of Arcadia," which was a city in ancient Egypt that was controlled by Rome. In the age of Christianity, it became an Episcopal see. The name for the city Arcadia came from the root arktos, meaning "bear."

The above isn't quite right... There was a region in Roman Egypt called Arcadia, or Arcadia Ægypti; however, the original Arcadia was a region in Greece. The roots of the name are Greek, not Latin. It is named from Arcas, a son of Zeus. Arcadia later came to carry romantic connotations of a pristine wilderness paradise in European art and literature.
