My name is Aven and I love having a name that is not ordinary. Yes I got called Avon alot still do but who doesn't get called other names. There isn't a great story on my name. My aunt liked the name and was going to name her daughter Aven but she never had a girl so my mom used the name for me. My cousin wrote the fictional book "Here There Be Dragons" and named the heroine after my name. We both have red hair. I love my Name!
Aven was the name of my custodian in elementary school, she's probably in her 50's now. I think it's adorable though regardless. You should really consider it.

Why they chose Aven Angelica as their daughter’s name:
Matthew says, "Angelica because she’s angelic. Aven means mountain flower. We liked it — it was unique and we hadn’t heard it before. We were on a road trip, coming back from seeing my parents in Tennessee. We stopped at a hotel and were looking online under ‘A’ to find something to go with Angelica. It’s an English name. Naama immediately heard it and said, “That’s it.”

My name is Aven and I was born in 1960. I too wondered where it came from because people always asked me. My mother told me it is biblical and that there is a character in her favorite book named Aven. The Aven in the book is the little sister who steals the herione's fiance. In short, she is the bad guy in the book. The book is Taproots by Frank Yerby.
The biblical reference is from the Plain of Aven which is interpreted as the sin of Isreal or, a place name meaning vanity, nothingness, iniquity, and sorrow. I researched all of this when I was 12 and even though I have been getting compliments on my name for 54 years, I'm embarressed to tell people what it means. Thanks Mom!
