Note that with the popularity of Twilight, this is going to be a very popular name for the next few years. It is a beautiful name, but if you want a not so common name or don't want your daughter to be "one of the 6 Bellas" in her class all through out her school years you may want to try a less common variation of this name or just look for another name entirely. Might work for a babys nick name, but older this name does not work. People seem to either love or hate the name. Not a very pretty name overall. Its a name for an object or a pet, not a baby girl. Think long and hard before naming your child bella. Bella-anne, bella-rose is the only way to make this name even more ugly.

First of all my daughter is named Bella, and if you look and do research about the empowerment of the name Bella you will see that giving your daughter this name is in every form a positive name. Bella is probably one of the most amazing names you can give your daughter. By giving her this name she will be empowered to be artistic, to be the brightest light in the room, she will know when someone is being true to her and she will be caustious in finding her mate, as well as friends. Bellas are very strong minded and though they seem shy at first, once she is comfortable with you she will be an open book. They are as loyal as they come and have some of the most amazing talents and out looks on life. She will have strength, independence, know how, honor, and loyalty!! And dont think she will just fall for any guy, no, no, they are very picky and no what they want!! So to the lady that wrote the first part of this blog, you dont have a clue, SERIOUSLY!!! DOESNT WORK, HAHA, IT NOT ONLY WORKS, IT IS A NAMED THAT IS LOVED BY ALL CULTURES AND CREEDS!!

Personal experiences with the name Bella: | Edit

To the 2nd commenter. I swear you described my “Bella” to a T! She’s 8 and she’s so artistic, protective and just lights up a room. She’s always been so smart and advanced and so talented. All she wants is to please others and be happy. She’s also stubborn and determined in all she does. lol Thank you for your response to the nasty first commenter. I’ve loved the name Bella my whole life. It’s meaning in Italian and Spanish and how pretty it sounds makes it feel like a bright, romantic, special name! Within hours after she was born I looked down at her and Bella Boo just came out of my mouth. So her nickname has been “Boo” every since. :-)

To the first commentor: my daughter was born in 2010 which was around when the Twilight movies were coming out and so I had a little concern that she would end up with a few Bellas in her classroom, however, she is now 8 years old/in third grade and we have yet to meet another Bella at daycare, her schools, afterschool programs, soccer, jujitsu, summer camps.... anywhere! let alone 6 of them, like you mentioned. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever met a Bella of any age. I grew up in Nebraska and have lived in California for over 20 years, as well as lived in Wisconsin, Arizona, and London, England and no Bellas. Isabella, but not just Bella. We recently moved to Los Angeles from Orange County in Southern California - so it’s not like we live in the middle of nowhere. And that era was over 8 years ago - I doubt those books or movies are going to have that kind of influence on that name now, especially when it didn’t then.
