YES me too! I am exactly the same way; fun-loving, never having been to any wild partys, nor do I drink, and I too take things very seriously alot of times even too seriously (my husban says "I'm serious" is my favorite phrase) . I too believe it is a misconception. In high school my friends would call me mom b/c they could always count on me to keep then out of trouble. And I might as well have a BS in counseling My husban consantly jokes he is going to get a 1-900 phone number saying he is going to start charging for my counseling servises.

I love my name, Brandy!!! It means fun-loving & that describes me perfectly. I think there is a misconception that this is a "partygirl" name. However, I've never been to any "wild parties" & I do not drink. I do tend to not take things too seriously, but I do have a BS in Counseling. Guys always comment on my name; they love it!!! I have a younger sister, Amanda. We have always been known as Mandy & Brandy:)

I was always called Brandy until I was a teenager when my little sister started calling me Bran then my mom picked up on it. I hated it then; but after I met the man who is now my husban who began calling me Bran it seemed to have a different ring to it. Now days I get Bran from my husban, mom, sister and in-laws but the name I'm called the most is mom.

I am named after that song. After my parents didn't like each others choices Shanondoah (my Mom's Blech choice) and Crystal (my Dad's) they both decided they really liked the song and settled on Brandy. It's fun when people hear my name and start singing the song :)
