Comments and insights on the name Brynn: | Edit

Just named my baby girl Brynn. I think it sounds very fresh. It's a name that is original and not overused, while at the same time it is not weird or too out there. It's a name that will grow with her. For some reason though people think we're saying 'Bryan' when we tell them her name, which is some what frustrating. But I have gotten nothing but positive feedback over the name choice.

Be prepared for that "Bryan" thing all her life! I am a Brynn born in the early 80's when *no one* else had my name. It used to infuriate me to be called a boy's name. I've kind of gotten over it now and can correct people politely without taking it too personally (usually!). It helps that there are more little Brynns out there (thanks in part to you and your new baby) and people are getting used to seeing the name and recognizing it. :-) On the flip side, I have always loved my name and feel like it really added to my sense of identity to have such a unique name!

My youngest is 2 and named Brynn...and we get the Bryan thing all the time! We've learned to smile and say it's Brynn and just keep going.

Love it and want to name my daughter it, but im scared of the Bryan thing happening.

My best friend is a Brynn, and every time she gets called on the announcements people who don't know her call her Bryan all the time and I just sit there and Laugh. But I love the name, I'm going to name my first girl Brynn, actually Brynnabeth fully. I know it's weird but when me and her fight (it's common, haha) she'll always call me Cecilia(full name.... Did I say Ewww) and one day I just spat out Brynnabeth at her and it stuck. It's pretty, and I think it's a really nice name for a girl.

Having the name Brynn is very rare, so what I have found is nice about it is that everyone named Brynn will embody the name, having no one else to compare it to. When you are a Brynn, you are usually the only one. I LOVE being a Brynn and would name my daughter that if it was generally done with women. Brynn is great because it is unique yet simple. Most people think I have chosen it as a nickname (short for Brenda) and are impressed that it's my full name. So yes - name your daughters Brynn! (But not too many of you or it won't be as cool :))

The Bryan thing can be quite annoying, but I like having the name Brynn. Aside from being called a boys name, you get a lot of compliments. One of my friends asked if my name was short for anything, and I got the nickname Brynnalynnagin. It's unusual, but it stuck. One of my close friends has the name Brinna, Brin for short. So we're still known as Brynn & Brin. I think the name is very pretty and unique.

My name is Brynn, I often have people pronounce it like Byron, Bryan, and even Bryon. I like having the name Brynn. My middle name is Carmela so I like the combo. My friends name is Brynn also so its weird and when ever our teacher would call our name we would both answer and people would call us brynn's so yeah

Personal experiences with the name Brynn: | Edit

Hi !!
My name is Brynn and I was born in 1962. Back then I knew of no one with this name ,Now in 2009 I have seen and heard of it quite frequently. I too went thru the Bryan thing and still do at times . However more and more I am finding people know the name and it really gives me a warm feeling when they pronounce it correctly the first time !!! I love having this name and over the years I have always felt it lent a bit of uniqueness to me. I even had some one I barely knew that liked my name so much they named their daughter Brynn .Boy if that wasn't a GOOD feeling !!!
Peace,Brynn

My name is Brynn and I had heard that other Brynns existed, but never met one in 31 years until yesterday. The
Bryan thing is not that big a deal and honestly I think it helped me to not be shy. Everyone compliments me on my name - thanks mom & dad!

My very good friend's name is Brynn and she is a flamboyant and sweet young women and I think the name Brynn suites her very well. She never knew anyone with the name Brynn, but the name has been getting very popular recently. Overall I think Brynn is a simple and fresh name that ages well!

We call one of my friends Brynn. Her real name is Brandi Lynn, and she wanted an original nickname, so we mashed the two names together to make Brynn! She's honest, trustworthy, and always there for anyone when they need it. I think the name itself is simple and original without being too our there. I love it!
