My wife's name is Colette. Most of the family calls her Cols. She likes the name, but doesn't like when it's misspelled (using 2 "L's"). I work with a sort of strange woman who's name is Colette but she pronounces it "Co-LAY." She also has purple hair...just sayin'...
My 10 yr old son wants to name my baby girl Colette because we both LOVE the movie Ratatouille. I will go with it. :)

I've had the name for 21 years and for the most part, I like it. It's not too common so people tend to remember it. Although, a pet peeve of mine is when it's mispronounced as 'KAW-leht'...
I actually know 2 different families who have 2 kids each, both named Colette & Jacob. Colette is not a terribly popular name, so what are the odds!
