Coppelia in song, story & screen: | Edit

A French ballet written in the late 19th century about a man who falls in love with a 'woman' sitting on a balcony reading. He comes to realize that it is a doll named Coppélia. Swanilda, Franz's betrothed, catches him trying to get the attention of Coppélia and is very mad at him and Coppélia. Swanilda later sneaks into Dr. Coppélius' house to confront Coppélia only to find out that she is a doll. Dr. Coppélius returns before Swanilda can leave and finds that Franz has also wandered into his house to find Coppélia. Dr. Coppélius then tries to use Franz to bring Coppélia to life, and it seems to work. But really it is only Swanilda dressed as Coppélia, so that she can save her beloved Franz.
