I was born in the early 80's and when I was younger nobody had heard of my name but I've always loved it. Some people mispronounce it "Core-EEN" which I don't like because I've always pronounced it "ker-in" but it's not enough to dislike my name. It's never been a REALLY popular name and I like that, but most people have heard of the name now, especially after the movie "Big Daddy". It's a beautiful name and I go by Corrine not Cory which I know some people with the name go by. In general, I don't think it's a name that people would instinctively shorter in any way. I always get compliments on my name, and asked how my parents came up with the name (from the TV show "Soap").
Very happy to have a unique but not weird name and it looks beautiful written as well! BTW my middle name is Nicole which goes well with it :-)
