- Comments and insights on the name Dawna: | Edit
Dawna is the first glow of day lighting the world after the darkness of night. It is symbolic of birth and of Genesis when God said "Let there be light." It can also be a varient of Donna, the Italian "Lady" in reference to the Blessed Madonna.
- Personal experiences with the name Dawna: | Edit
Dawna is the name I was given, and so many times people have commented that it's unusual, and some think I must have changed it from the more commonly known "Donna". To me, the two names have a completely different character, and the name Dawna always brings to mind a vision of light. In some parts of the United States, for example where I live, the two names are pronounced identically. In other parts of the country, the first vowel of Dawna and Donna varies in sound.
