- Personal experiences with the name Deanna: | Edit
My name is DeAnna (spelled with a capital A please) and I love my name. I have only met two DeAnna's in my life so far and I'm 21 years old. As a child I got called DeAnna Banana...but I love my name anyway. When I was born I was nameless for three days until my mother heard DeAnna on TV. She capitalized the A because her middle name is Ann and I look exactly like her!
My name is also DeAnna, but only because my dad has a thing for having names with weird spellings, or just weird names in general. I have a twin sister by the name of MaKayla. Both with a capital letter.
My name is Deanna and I love my name! We pronounce it 'Dee-Yann-Uh' and I was named after Deanna Troi from Star Trek: Next Generation (my dad is super dorky!) but my mum lies and tells people its Deanna Durbin I am named after. Whilst I love my name I think it looks a bit odd against my siblings names which are all very traditional: Christopher, Rachel and David. I simply cannot stand people pronouncing my name wrong (Deena, Dee-ahr-nah, Diana, etc.) so I do sometimes wish I had a more common name, but then I would be like everyone else, and who wants that?!
My names Deanna too, My dad's name is Dean and my mom's name is Anna so it's pretty obvious how I got it :P I love it sort of BECAUSE not a lot of people pronounce it right. It makes me feel special
