- Personal experiences with the name Delaney: | Edit
My name is Delaney Rae. When my mother was pregnant with me she said "If the baby is a boy, the name will be Dylan. And if it's a girl, Delane." Then later she came up with "Delaney".
My first name is Delaney and sometimes its ok...I mean people who have never heard it before seem to really love it a lot and I am one of the only "Delaneys" that I know, all of the ones that I have met before have been younger than me (I'm 23) so I guess that this name is on the rise! My mom is Irish and she always told me it meant decendent of the challenger.
This is my daughter's middle name. She is named after her great-grandparents last name. We spell it with a capital "L", because that's how the last name is spelled.
My last name is Delaney and it isn't spelled with a capital L. I always loved my last name so I will probably use it as my child's middle name if I should have a girl.
