I needed a stage name. I did not like my birth name, Diann, it was too old. I dropped the "nn" to become Dia! I love the name. I always tell people, that I am "the day" (spanish). I love Dia, and never tell people, my name is Diann, unless I am at the Doctor! I am Dia, I am the day!

My two year old daughter is named "India". We had abbreviation of Indy but she insists she wants to be Dia! So Dia she is! A lot of her little friends started calling her Dee before they could say Indy and that is becoming Dia. Also, watching Leonardo Di Caprio movie "Blood Diamond" the other night, the little boy in that is named Dia.
