My nephews even call me Aunt Donut! I don't mind!- Personal experiences with the name Dona: | Edit
Dona is my name. All my life I have had to correct spelling, repeat it over and over and have people think my name is Donna, Dana, Dora, Donut. Arg. It is a terrible name. I hope it disappears quietly and no one plans to name their child this in the future. I have started going by the name Eddie because it is just easier for my life and self-esteem. Hope this helps.

There is a Jewish folk song called Dona Dona Dona. It is not about the name exactly and I think the name is used only because it sounds good in a chorus. It is about a calf going to slaughter. I hear this a lot when I tell people my name.
