I have had a lot of people comment on how they love the name, although my own parents didn't like it. Many people have been receptive to it and love it! It is one of those names for a girl that you either love or hate it!
I LOVE the name for both boys and girls!
Lynda and Dylan are anagrams of each other; they contain the same letters.
My middle child (a boy) is named Dylan. I wanted all my kids (3) to have Welsh names. It is to tough to find Welsh names that are pronounceable and spellable by Americans. I really dislike the name Dylan for girls. The actual meaning of the name is SON of the sea. It makes no sense to name a girl something that means son. If you want to know more about the history of the name read the Mabinogion, which is a collection of ancient Welsh mythology.
- Personal experiences with the name Dylan: | Edit
My husband and I named our daughter Dylan because we loved the name and couldn't agree on anything else. He was super traditional and I was more trendy. It fits her and she looks like a Dylan, although we did give her a more feminine middle name, so down the road she hopefully won't get all mail that has Mr. Dylan on it!
My 9 year old is named Dylan. She adores her name! I figured if Ralph Lauren can do it... :)
