I know an Elle and she sometimes spells her name "L" in casual company. I think that's cute.
I think Elle is okay as a nickname for Elizabeth, Eleanor, etc. but it doesn't have enough substance as a full name. My cousin named her daughter Elle and some of my relatives said things like, "That's not a name, it's a French pronoun!" behind her back.
I named my baby Elle. When people ask her name, the reaction depends on their age. Older people look at me like I am crazy. Younger people LOVE the name. We call her Ellie sometimes at home for her nickname. But, for the most part, she will be known as Elle. I love it. So pretty!
I named my first daughter Elle Victoria. I love the name but it sometimes raises some eyebrows though I know another little girl called Elle. I think it is a beautiful, sophisticated name and suits her to the T (blond curly hair and blue eyes). So cute!

We named our daughter Elizabeth and we use Elle as a nickname.
I'm 16 and I'm named Elle (though my actual name is Julia Elena, my mom always called me Elle). I love the name; the only problem is that when people read it in print they always pronounce it like "Ellie." It really annoys me.
