Comments and insights on the name Elsbeth: | Edit

My parents named me Elsbeth too, and changed the p in elspeth to a b. They named me after reading the book Elspeth and the Flame trees of Thika. I really love my name. Some people say its a very pretty name, others have trouble pronouncing it the first time, but quickly learn the correct way to say it. Some nicknames people have given me are Els or Elsie, but most of the time people call me just Elsbeth. Its always nice to have a unique name, so your never confused with other people in school and what not.

Personal experiences with the name Elsbeth: | Edit

My parents loved the book The Flame Trees of Thika by Elspeth Huxley, but decided that in an American accent, Elspeth was too unwieldy. So they changed the "p" to a "b". Not much better, mom and dad, :-/
