Our 16 year old daughter's name is Ember Colleen. We've never really met another Ember, though we've heard of others. We've never had teasing or any problems, other than people thinking it's Amber. That doesn't last long. She likes the name a lot. Sometimes family members will call her Emby or Emby Pooh, but we've heard no derrogatory nicknarmes. We came up with the idea while watching a campfire going out. It was so beautiful, but had so much potential. It did not flaunt its strength, but it demanded respect. And no one wanted to leave before it was gone.
The name fits my granddaught to a T. It means little fiery one and she is that. She does get called Amber alot and my daughter and I both say Ember with an E at least once a week.
My little cancer baby is Ember too, she is emotional like all water signs are and can have a fiery temper. It is a perfect fit for her. We do get the Amber thing a lot too, and have to correct it. Her name is Ember Marian and we think it goes along great with her siblings, Ayla and Ryder.
-- My two year old is an Ember Jayne. Like many have said, we get the "Amber?" Thing a bit. But for the most part, people pick up on it, and we've gotten nothing but rave compliments, and her name suits her. It really does. She is a little spitfire, and I can't imagine her being ANYTHING other than an Ember. We've actually met one other Ember one day at the doctor's office. Funny enough, they were born mere minutes apart in the same hospital. Same doctor and all. It goes well with her little sister's name, too: Lilah Claire.
My name is Ember. It was my dad's idea and he got it from a fire, of course. I'm 30 years old and have loved growing up with it. I now immediately introduce myself as "Ember with an 'E'" and sometimes get annoyed with people calling me Amber even with the introduction. I have met two other Embers, but still find it rare to hear my name elsewhere. I think my name is very fitting and love when people say I'm on fire for God!
