Comments and insights on the name Faith: | Edit

To the first poster... my name is also Faith ... however, my family was NOT religious at all. Faith was a family name. Because we were basically Agnostics I did not give any "Religous" connection to it. I knew I did not like the idea of BLIND faith at all, since that is very dangerous.... and I love science .. a lot.
In my mid 20's however an interesting thing happened ... "God" showed up, (Big time ... seriously) , and that was more than kewl... cause "God" loves science also.
So, now I am still NOT "religous" but Spiritual ... trust me, there is a big difference.

I am not a Believer but a Knower. Because of this I now understand the difference between REAL faith and Blind faith.... and the difference is greater than Night and Day.
I NEEDED real proof and I received it.

As someone else pointed out here.. real faith is about Trust and well placed Trust is a very powerful attribute. If we do not Trust / have Faith in ourselves for instance, then life becomes much more difficult.

Here is my take on REAL faith: Because I have always lived on the East Coast I have experienced .. first hand, that the sun ALWAYS rises in the East. So... even though it is not YET tomorrow I have REAL faith that the sun WILL rise in the East tomorrow morning .. and NOT in the West or the South. That is REAL faith, based on actual, validated experience.

Anyway .. I now GET that there are no coincidences and also get that "God" / Higher Consciousness has a most excellent sense of humor. So maybe you might consider re-thinking your name ... and explore its deeper, more profound meaning. Don't allow others to define your name for you ... just because their own use of the word is .. ahhh, lacking.
You may well find that it carries a FAR deeper meaning than first meets the eye. Real faith is very empowering.

After all... a truly good scientists has REAL faith in their own ability to pursue Truth ... even when that Truth is not immediately apparent. Without real Faith/Trust .. that we can discover more and more about this Universe... we could never move forward.
Real faith is a beautiful and powerful thing .... however ... it often takes one a few years to grow INTO it and appreciate it at its deeper levels.

For me personally? ... I now see my name as "God's" little joke. Who knew that Divine Consciousness could have such an awesome sense of humor. From Agnostic to Bhakti Yogi in one Divine Instant.
Names CAN often be very karmic in nature .. so, just allow it to unfold for you... in a way which is right ... for You. You may be pleasantly surprised. Have Faith : )

Personal experiences with the name Faith: | Edit

My name is Faith, and I have never really liked my name. I grew up in a very religious family, being very religious myself, and didn't like it growing up. Now, as a woman in my mid twenties, I still do not like the name at all. I'm no longer religious, but I honestly don't think that has much to do with me not liking the name. As for it being "artsy" and "different", sure, it is artsy and somewhat different, but to me there are many more beautiful names that are also artsy and different. I also don't think it's fair to give your little girl a name that is so loaded with preconceived notions. I knew a family that was down to two names "Faith" and another. I gladly told them to go with the other name, which they did. The other name is beautiful, and one I would have rather had myself.

I dont know why that person said all of that horrible stuff about the name faith I am named faith and I love it! So I dont go to church and im not very religious but I love my name its beautiful and artsy and not plain and boring like Taylor or Rachel I feel special with my name and I love it. Its different and unique just like me <3

I named my Daughter Faith and i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, whenever i tell people her name the first thing they say is "beautiful" I couldn't be happier to have Faith in my life (in every aspect of the word)

My name is Faith and it kinda gets annoying I'm not that religious and kids I know make fun of me but I think my name is special not like Mia or Rachel but my friend Reagan said when I walked into the classroom I have "FAITH" that I can finish the math test today then I said " Oh, like I never heard that one before" I was sarcastic I've heard that one about five hundred times my entire life and it gets a little annoying and exactly when she said I have faith right when she said faith I walked into the room and you may know how annoying that joke gets if your named faith

My name is Faith and I love it! I'm a Christian, very spiritual, and most people say I live by my name!
I feel like it's a very gentle name, and everyone knows I'm a gentle person! My sisters name is Mercedes, or Mercy for short, and everyone thinks Faith and Mercy is cute, so do I! Most people will crack a joke 'I'm walking by Faith' when they walk by me, or say 'I have Faith' and I usually just laugh, I'm ok with the jokes, cause I know they aren't trying to hurt me with the jokes.
Also, I don't know too many other people with the name Faith, so I like that it's unique!
I have some friends who live in Japan, and the name Faith in Japan is something they don't hear, and my one friend says 'You'll be famous when you come to Japan because of your name!' :D
But I also think the name Faith is a very religious name as well!

I know a family who, after waiting over 15 years for a child, finally had a little girl. They named her Faith.
