I allowed my then 9 year old daughter name her sister, when she decided on "Gabriella" I knew that was the name. My "Gella" is loving, Whimsical, Intelligent and beautiful with gorgeous eyes and hair.

One of my best friends is named Gabriella and I absolutely love her name. It fits her perfectly. It is elegent, goddess-like, beautiful and sophisticated. However, a lot of people automatically call her Gabby, which we both really hate. I think Gabby takes out all of the beauty and grace out of such a lovely name.

I love the High School Musical movies, and find that "Gabriella" was the perfect name for the character because Gabriellas are usually smart, friendly, kind, and sweet people with shy sides. I agree with a person who wrote above, people who have just met me call me Gabby, which I don't like, so I tell them and they usually stop.
