I didn't know George was ever a girl's name! There's Georgia, Georgina, Georgette - but George for a girl? No!

^ my name is Georgina which I do like but it's a pretty long name and it always feels to me like someone is mad at me if they call me by my full name. So naturally, I love nicknames. I don't like being called Georgia (probably because there is someone by that name in my school year), I don't mind Georgie but being called George feels most endearing and friendly. I've been called that by my family my whole life and by my friends for years and it makes me feel happy and loved. As always though there are those special people that go "but George is a boys name!" or tell people that "her name is Georgina! Stop calling her George!". There are plenty of names that can apply to both genders, is it so hard for George to be accepted as one of them? Otherwise, I frankly don't see it as any of your business and I doubt girls being called George is doing you any serious harm. Have a good day.
