Comments and insights on the name Gertrude: | Edit

Hate this name! But I guess it is kinda cute! Especially Gertie. x

This was my father's birth name. His parents wanted a girl but he was born a boy. They called him Gertrude anyway. He fought in Madagascar and has tattoos of marine creatures on his inner thighs. Recently, he got his name legally changed to John. But, the scars of Gertrude remain. And the tattoos too.

My maiden name was Mary Gertz, and everyone always called me Gertie in school. Even tho I'm married now, all the people who love me call me Gertie.
Trudy is an adorable nickname. Gertrude, though... meh
