Most people can't remember it, spell it or pronounce it correctly in the US. I get called Guinness, Dennis, Gwynneth, Gladys and various other names. I don't answer unless they get it right after the third time. They usually spell it Glennis despit my having spelled it out for them. Total laziness. I am fed up with correcting people but I continue to do so because I don't like to be called someone elses name. I don't have this problem in the UK as much. At least from Britis born people. Wales of course is no problem. They just ask which way it is spelled as there are 3 different forms. Sometimes I wish I had an easier to remember name but at 60 I LIKE my name and the individuality it gives me.
