I don't particularly like it, but to me it has a very feminine sound. I picture a guy named Haven being physically weak. Can you imagine him trying to make something of himself in a male-dominated field, such as business? Poor guy. Give your son a strong name!
The only Haven I know was a man, and I never thought of it as feminine at all. He wore it well. I thought of it as a strong name, because of the meaning. I think it could easily be a male or female name.

We decided on this name if we had a girl a few years before our daughter was born. I actually had never heard of that name before, and now almost 17 years later I do hear it used for boys and girls. I don't think it should matter who uses it. A boy or girl. To me, it sounded angelic. I disagree with the comments above. I think haven is a better girl Name.
I have a great friend named Haven. SHe's hilarious. This name is definitely not overused
