My name is Havilah, and the name is Hebrew. Havilah is also in the bible. It is not a common name in america, where I live. My name means, Where there is Gold, or just Gold. The name can also be spelled Chavyilah. It is pronounced with a short i, most people who see it spelled out call me hav-ee-lah, or when they're sounding it out they forget the last h. Havilah can actually be a male or female name.
I found this information on a website that is designed to tell you how many people have the same name as you!
•There are fewer than 1,576 people in the U.S. with the first name Havilah.

a Hebrew name meaning "circle," from the root "khul" which can mean "twist," "dance," or "writhe."
mentioned in the old testament as a gold-bearing region, and also the name of a couple of men who are really only mentioned as being in someone's family.
On one cite I found that my name (Havilah) means "That suffers pain, that brings forth". They say the origin of the name is biblical. I guess that shows you that names can have a lot of meanings! I didn't even know my name meant that.

It is the name of one of Tevye, the main character's, daughters in the very successful musical "Fiddler on the Roof" performed on Broadway, then later turned into a movie in 1971. She is his middle daughter, in the movie he sings a song about her (below). Her REAL name was Chava, but he called her Chavala, and Havilah is what most people seem to pronounce/write it as. Frankly, I like Havilah better because it's not so harsh and it's very beautiful & more feminine sounding, In my personal opinion :)
"Little Bird, Little Chavala
I dont understand whats happening today
Everything is all a blur
Gentle and kind and affectionate
The sweet little bird you were
Chavala, ChavalaLittle Bird, Little Chavala
You were always such a pretty little thing
Everybody's favorite child
Gentle and kind and affectionate
The sweet little bird you were
Chavala, Chavala"
