i have a "hayla" only i spelled it haila...short for mahaila...ive never ran across her name in any baby book or on any site until now, and she's six! she is so unique, her name just fits her perfectly!

My 7 year old is named Hayla Mae, is spelled "Hayla." I came up with it when I was a teenager without a book or any help, so I thought it was very original. I remembered it when I started having kids. My husband is a tough person to get to like names and he loved the first and middle name right away. -Submitted by Andrea (10-02-12)

We have used Hay, Hay Hay (in a fun way) or we paired it with her middle name (Mae) and would call her Hay Hay Mae Mae (to be extra silly). It is tough to get a nickname out of Hayla. Her cousin called her A-LA-LA, when he was too young to be able to say her name. I suppose La La would work as well.
