Helle in song, story & screen: | Edit

Helle, in Greek mythology, was the twin sister of Phrixus. Along with her brother, she rode the ram with the golden fleece in an attempt to escape from her wicked stepmother, Ino. Unfortunately, she fell out over the ocean and drowned. Because of her (so the story goes), that particular strait is known as the Hellespont.
