I am Irish and living in Ireland and my name is Elizabeth. In the Irish language my name is "Eilis" or "Eilish". Both are pronounced "EYE LEESH" and NOT "Ay lish" There should be a "fada" on top of the "E" and on top of the second "i" in Eilis (as in the way it's written in the header) which elongates the "E" to "Eye" and the 2nd "i" to "ee" if you understand what I mean, but I can't find any on my computer, to put them in....... Also, the "s" at the end is pronounced as "sh". Hence "Eilis" or "Eilish" is pronounced "Eye Leesh" in the Irish language.....

i think the name is very strong and smart, as is eilis.
the name eilis shows authority and is dignified.
we have friends since year 6. i would very much like more eilis' in the world today.
