Here's a description I found on baby name index: "Irelynn - Description: celtic/ gaelic lynn: waterfall, from the lake, a cascade, and pretty. Ireland: celtic goddess. Therefore, the name means 'pretty goddess.'" It's also considered a combination of Irene and Lynn. 'Ire' is in the name Irene, however the name does not mean anger, wrath, or fury (although my grandmother's name is Irene, and it's always a wise idea to dodge her wrath and fury whenever possible!). It actually means peace, from Eirene or Irene, the Greek Goddess of peace. I think this is a lovely combination/name that you won't come across everyday!

For me the name Irelyn reminds me of my heritage. I am Irish. Instead of naming my daughter Ireland, I chose this name to honor my Irish heritage. I have liked this name since the 90's but then I was to young to have children (I was in 10th grade). I like the peaceful waterfall meaning too...

M My 8 month old daughters name is Irelyn and I love her name and for the angry waterfall comment so stupid, the actual peaceful waterfall is way better, i mean my daughter is the best baby she always puts herself to sleep since day one she is the happiest baby, i mean she has her angry moments but they last 2 seconds i mean come on!!!! Well Irie is her nickname and i also call her Iriebug!!!! I love my little Iriebug!!!!!!!!

I have a one month old daughter named Irelyn Izabelle Donna. I have never heard of anyone else with her name,not personally.
Irelyn is a beautiful and unique name, My spouse wanted to name her Ireland but I convinced him Irelyn was more girly and sounds so pleasant. She is a very pleasant, beautiful baby.

Our daughters name is Irelyn and it suits her so well! She is so sweet and bubbly with blue eyes and wavy blonde hair. It is such a pretty sounding name and unique. We really liked the name Isabel as well, but it was just too overused.
