I was given this name by mother who was trying to make her mother-in-law and mother-in-law's mother happy. My great grandmother's name was Jeanie and my grandmother's name was Lona Lee. A comprmise was met and viola! Jenilee Rose! However, it wasnt that simple I am a twin also! My twin sis name is Natilie. We got the sing-songy name thing going on. Well in truth I really dont like my name. The only fun people could poke at was that they said it sounded hillbillyish like the "Dukes of Hazard" car Generalee. lol yeah goodtimes I've had hearing that. But the worst is hearing my name slaughtered. No matter how many times I say my name to someone they always try to pronounce it "Ja-nelly" WTF? It was a blessing when I was in the military because we all got called and callled each other by our last names. Now days I go by Jen. But peeps always wanna respond by " OHHh Jennifer!" "what a lovely name! I just got tired of correcting people. It's a unique name and I've always pronounced my name "SHjena-lee" almost in a french dialect. pronouncing it that way might not seem right but shuts them up. My sis and I always wanted to name our first born daughters after each other my daughter's name is Natalie and my sis and I both agreed Jenilee was out of o the question. We decided on Jenna! like Jenna-Lee
