My name is Julie and I love it... I like my middle name much more, but I really wish someone would name their kid after me anyways... just to pass on the name, I have only met one other Julie and she was reeeaally old... and the lady I was named after of course, of were they the same person... oh well...
- Personal experiences with the name Julie: | Edit
-An incredibly common name. As a teenager, I had 4 Julies (of 40) in my classes and 3 Julies (of 50) at my part-time job.
-Lots of similar-sounding names such as Julia which are also popular.
-There are no decent nicknames or short forms, so often need to use a middle name or last initial to differentiate.
-A nice name. I like it.
My sister's name is Julie and I love it. I'm pregnant with twin girls and I plan to name them Scarlett and Juliet, shorting it to Julie in her honor.
I have always loved my name. I didn't know any Julie's growing up. It wasn't until high school that I met three more. My mother said she named me after an actress, so I had ambitions of becoming one some day. Well, I had acting success in junior high, high school, and college....but I never hit the "big-time"! It is very interesting that after reading about the life work of Julie's listed on this site, I had much in common with them all.
Julie is my name, and I love it. The only downside is that everybody thinks my name is short for Julia, Juliette, or Juliana; and all the Julia's and Juliana's i went to school with went by the name Julie which just confused my teachers.

My Great-Great Grandmother name was Julia and when my parents named me Julie, they didn't know this fact. It was just unearthed in 2000 or 2002 when my Uncle Ted did some digging in the family tree. Well you see the Julia I am refering is my father's, Uncle Ted's and Aunt Joan's Great-Grandmother now. I think honestly my Grandpa Szenger knew this now and never shared this fact with us now because it was his Grandmother on his Maternal side of the family.
