Some people would not like this name because they'd say it sounds like a mix of Karla an Mariah. But this is actually an original name and is common for some middle eastern groups. I know, because I work in the ER of a hospital where a lot of arabics and caldeans live, and read the names on the que. However, I am unable to find any information on the name. I really like it, however. I think it sounds like a strong, yet feminine variant to Karla. I'd pronounce it KAR-lie-uh and nickname my daughter Karli if I used it.
Karliah is a character in the game Skyrim. That's where I heard this name! I think it sounds great in the game with the setting and all, but outside the game it sounds a bit silly!

My great aunts name is Carliah. She's never been married, is a very strict catholic and is honestly a crab. Her name is interesting though. About the only thing about her that's catchy.
