I chose this name for my daughter as I also have a nickname version of Catherine. My grandmother is Catherine and her nickname was Katinka - so I was named Katinka and then named my daughter a similar nickname version of Catherine.

Katja is part of the middle name of my daughter (Naiomi Katja-Lynn). My Omi is named Katja, and I love her name and how unique it is.
