It is a unique spelling. It can be pronounced as Laur-in or Laur-Ann.

Personal experiences with the name Lauran: | Edit

This spelling of Lauren is not very common and is misspelled a great deal. Those of us with this name, love it and like how it is spelled. We often say that it looks prettier than Lauren. Many people have made comments to me on how they like the way it is spelled.

My name is Lauran and I despise people calling me Lauren. If you are going to call your child Lauran, do her a favour and spell it Laurann or Loran. My name has nothing to do with the name Lauren, my dad wanted to call me Laura and my mum wanted to call me Ann, so they mixed the two. There is nothing worse than having complete strangers saying to you (upon giving them your name) "Oh, you mean Lauren!"

Nicknames for Lauran: | Edit

My name is Lauran. My Mother tells me that being the first born she and my father named me after both of them. Lawrence and Diane.....hence....Lauran. For years I was teased and went by Lori. Now as an adult I go by Lauran and sometimes it is just easier to let them call me Lauren. Otherwise I am always correcting them. My friends Call me Lauran. I like it. Although it gets old when you have to deal with bills and forms as they want to add the E all the time. And I have to correct them with the proper way it is spelled.

Meanings and history of the name Lauran: | Edit

My name is a mix of Laura and Ann. Through my own research, Lauran seems to also be a male name in Germany, I'm not sure if it has an English variant.
