The name, borne by a well-known Scottish clan, was not in common use as a personal name until late in the 19th century.

My name is Leslee. My fathers middle name was Lee. As a kid, I hated it because of the spelling, but after I was older I loved it for the same reason. It actually makes more sense to spell it phonetically, LES LEE. I think no one really loves their name, and I think in general it is lame. : ) The Lee give a bit more flare.
