Personal experiences with the name Liat: | Edit

Friends of mine had triplets in 1996, one girl and identical twin brothers, thus achieving both types of twinning in one pregnancy. The two boys were named James and Robert after their grandfathers. The mother's favourite movie is "South Pacific" so she chose Liat for the one daughter, after the Tonkinese girl character. She had no idea for years that the name was Hebrew and used mainly in Israel. They pronounce her name with the accent on the first syllable, LEE-at. She is decidedly the boss of the triplets (known collectively as "The Trips"), and is now a medical student planning to specialize in neurology. She is tiny, pretty, and very stubborn, and the short name with the strong emphasis on the first syllable suits her.
